Indian govt approves ?46.74 cr for 18 projects in technical textiles

India's minister of textiles Piyush Goyal has approved 18 R&D projects in technical textiles worth ₹46.74 crore. Covering a range of sub-sectors, the projects are spearheaded by leading institutes like IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, and others. The minister also reviewed the NTTM and emphasised the need for R&D in globally imported technical textiles.

India eyes high-value products to boost technical textiles sector

India’s ministry of textiles has approved 20 R&D projects, valued at ?61.09 crore. Minister Piyush Goyal has emphasised the need for research and innovation in technical textiles, which could offer alternatives in sectors like aviation and infrastructure. He also advocated for wider collaboration between various ministries to promote NTTM.

India issues QCO for technical textiles, to be effective after 6 mnths

India has issued its first-ever QCO for the technical textiles sector, aiming to establish the country as a global hub for this niche segment. The ministry of textiles launched two QCOs covering 31 items, including 19 geo textiles and 12 protective textiles. The initiative aims to enhance product standards and quality and protect the environment.

US’ Geosynthetics Conference 2023 ends on a successful note
